MISSION OF THE COMMUNITY :
  • To provide medical help to the poorest people.
  • Apostolic work in the parish.
  • To provide basic education to the kids.
  • House visits.
  • Conduct tailoring training to unemployed women of the locality.
ORIGIN OF THE COMMUNITY :
  • St. Theresa’s Convent at Bommidi was founded on 15.10.1958 by Rev. Fr. Ligion (who was the founder of our Attur convent).
  • It was a branch house of Salem till 1968. Soon it became the branch house of Vimalapuri.
  • In 1976 the Chapel was built for the convent.
  • In 1976 Kindergarden School was constructed to help the poor children of Bommidi. The children were provided food and clothes too.
  • In 1980 a needle work section was started to empower the young girls who are jobless. These girls were also given awareness on health education and helped to become self-reliant. In the same year Mother and Child Welfare programme was started.
  • In 1987 the house became independent from Vimalapuri with its own superior. The sisters always were at the service of the local church.
