SMMI CONVENT DHARMAPURI - (1965)
MISSION OF THE COMMUNITY :
  • Aims towards Character building and intellectual achievement through education.
  • Regular visit to the families (school teachers, students, catholic families and people of other faith).
  • Timely and frequent visits to the Government hospital close by to pray, console and strengthen the sick.
  • Pastoral work shared in the parish.
ORIGIN OF THE COMMUNITY :
  • In 1965, Sisters from community of Kadagathur started a Nursery school called Amala Nursery English School in the R.C.Church compound, Dharmapuri. The sisters from this community were going to teach in Dharmapuri School. Later Amala Nursery English school was shifted to Thadagam where our sisters bought the new land (Vimalapuri).
  • Due to lack of transport facilities the school was not progressing well. So a new building was constructed in Dharmapuri and the school started to function there. Sisters from Vimalapuri convent were going to teach in the Dharmapuri School every day. Later a new convent in Dharmapuri was constructed and blessed on 26th October 1999.
  • On 18th May 2000 the community of Dharmapuri was bifurcated from Vimalapuri mission.
