SMMI PROVINCIALATE SALEM - (2005)

MISSION OF THE PROVINCE :

To animate the Spiritual, Community and Mission aspects of the Sisters in the Province.
To organize Orientation Programme, Seminars, Retreats, Refresher Sessions - to build up the Province at all levels.
Fostering Anbiyams (B.C.C) teach Sunday Catechism and visit to the families in the parish.

ORIGIN OF THE PROVINCE :

The official Bifurcation took place on April 2^nd 2005. Sr.Jane Scaria the Superior General, General Councilors, Provincials and the Regionals of various places graced the function.
Sr.Jeya Mary being elected as the First Provincial was installed on 3^rd April 2005.
On 15^th August 2006 the newly built Provincialate was blessed by Most Rev.Dr.S.Singaroyan, the Bishop of Salem.
The sisters started to live in the new house from 27^th January 2007 having the Eucharistic presence, after the blessing of the new chapel.
On 18.05.2011 Sr.Jeya of Jesus was announced as the second Provincial of Salem Province.
On 28.05.2011 Sr.Jeya was installed as a Provincial of Salem Province in the presence of our sisters during the Holy Eucharistic celebration.
Sr.Jeya completed her six years of mandate as Provincial on 14.05.2017.
On 03.05.2017 Rev.Sr.Flora Valan was announced as the new Provincial of Salem Province.
On 15.05.2017 Sr.Flora Valan was installed as third Provincial of Salem Province in the presence of Sisters of the province during the Holy Eucharistic celebration.
