Fr. Henri Chaumont
The French priest Fr.Henri Chaumont was taken up by our patron's spirituality, founded the "Society of the Daughters of St. Francis de Sales" in 15th Oct 1872 at Paris along with Madame Carre De Malberg who was prepared by Almighty through sufferings and trials of life.

Our Co- Foundress Madame Carre De Malberg guided by our founder formed many married and unmarried women to get into the society to work for their personal sanctification being in any state of life and to meet the challenges in any apostolic activity.

Mother Marie Gertrude
Co-Foundress SMMI.
“Lord You Know that I love you” is the assurance given to Jesus by a young Lady, joined the Society, who daringly came to India with three others in Nov 2nd 1889 to Nagpur. She is Mother Marie Getrude who became the foundress of S.M.M.I. Within 15 years of her life time in India, she uplifted thousands of poor women and started many apostolic works which has paved the way to serve the poor and women in 21 countries in the world today.
