Genesis of 20 Convents in Salem Province
SMMI CONVENT, PALANKA RAYA INDONESIA - (2014)
MISSION OF THE COMMUNITY :
- To give education to the children in the School.
- To render service in the hospital.
- To involve in Parish activities .
- Meeting people through regular visits.
ORIGIN OF THE COMMUNITY :
- Most Rev. Aloysius Maryadi Sutrisnaatmaka, MSF, Bishop of Palangka Raya in Central Kalimantan invited the SMMI sisters to work in Indonesia.
- On 14th December 2014, SMMI sisters were welcomed in the diocese of Palangka Raya, to take part in the pastoral works and to serve the people of Central-Kalimantan. The pioneers are Sr.Antoniya Viji, Sr.Ramya Amala and Sr. Elizabeth Rani.
- Sr.Antonia Viji and Sr.Elizabeth Rani are placed to work in the diocesan hospital and Sr.Ramya Amala is placed to work in the school as treasurer. All the three are very much involved in all the parish activities.
